The Minecraft Update 1.1 Debate

I know this is a little late, but I'm here to talk about Minecraft update 1.1. Now the thing about this update is that there is so much bias about the big fixes that it is over whelming.

First, I think that personally Notch got the wrong idea when people where yelling at him to fix the ladders. I do like that the side and bottoms of the ladders having their collision boxes removed. But I think a lot of people really liked the idea of being able to stand on the ladders and standing on ladders made it fun on parkor maps where you jumped from ladder to ladder. I still think even with no collision boxes on the sides and bottoms of ladder that you should still be able to stand on the ladders.

Secondly, I'm here to talk about the new golden apple recipe. I think that this is the best and probably the worst "fix" in the game. It went from one apple that had to be found in dungeons surrounded by 8 gold blocks, to one apple found by chopping down a tree and 8 gold nuggets (9 gold nuggets= 1 gold ingot; 9 gold ingots= 1 gold block).
Another downside to this that the golden apple went from around 30 seconds of regeneration to giving about 5 seconds of regeneration. I personally feel that Notch took too much time off the regeneration because 5 seconds does very little. If he does not let the time on the regeneration become longer he should at least let the time add together into a grand total.

I believe that those are the most contraversial of the big updates, but there is one last thing I want to bring up before I say goodbye. The bow inchaments are awesome, but the fact that Notch had to change the name for those enchantments was a bit annoying.

If you want to see any of the other updates I did not include in this rant or contact Notch himself, click the link below. Don't forget to check out my YouTube channel in the second link below. This is Mike saying Minecraft for the win.

Peace!
